Jack
Frost and his men are back with their sixth album, the first one on
Regain Records. James Rivera (ex-Helstar), who did the vocals on
“Passage to the Other Side” and “Year of the Witch” has now
joined Vicious Rumors, but Jack Frost was able to recruit
Allan Tecchio (ex- Hades, Ex- Non Fiction, Ex- Watchtower). Since
the debut “Second War in Heaven” back in 1999 there have been four
singers, four bassists and five drummers in Seven Witches, maybe Mr.
Frost is going for the world record in lineup changes? (Watch out Mr.
Malmsteen). Maybe
that’s why “Amped” sounds so uninspired; there are only four great
tunes, the rest of the songs sound like they are leftovers from the
other five albums. And to make things worse we get a cover version of
Billy Idol’s “Flesh for Fantasy”, that really stinks. I’m
sorry Mr. Frost, but you can do a lot better than this. Recommended
Tracks: “West Nile”, “Sunnydale High”, “Fame Gets you off” & “Widows and
Orphans”. |
