German
band Sencirow was founded in
the summer of 1996 and after two albums, "Dreamspace" (1999) and "Crown of Creation" (2001) Sencirow are
back with a third one, called “Perception
of Fear”. We
get 10 tracks of Heavy Metal and Power Metal in the vein of Morgana Lefay, Primal Fear
and
Iron Maiden. I
have been listening to this promo-CD quite a lot since I received it for
about 8 days ago, or so, and
it’s quite good but not outstanding in my opinion. The production is
good, the songs are okay, and
that’s it! Or is it? Even
after numerous listens there's nothing that has really stuck to my
memory… and again… the songs are
ok, but not more than ok. Of
course there are some good ideas to be found on this release… great
riffs in “Burn it Down”… a catchy chorus
in “Connection of Evil”, but in my opinion
Sencirow still has room for improvement. Some
song completely sinks in the maelstrom of similar releases in the sense
of "I know that, don't I?" or also "The song already is
over? How did it go again?”. So;
what remains at the end is a
nice Metal album, nothing really special, but for fans of the genre
worth to be checked out. Recommended tracks: See above. |
