"Enigmatic
: Calling" is Pagan's Mind's 3rd attempt to convince music
journalists, that high quality progressive metal can come from Norway
... and have they succeeded? Sure, once more they have created a great
metal album of a very high standard. On
offer this time is 65 minutes of music - split into 11 tracks - and
Pagan's Mind style is still a nice cross between power metal and
progressive metal, dominated by Jörn Viggo Lofstad's excellent guitar
work and Nils K. Rue's equally great vocals, but it is not like the
rest of the band leaves much to be desired for. Add a superb sound -
produced by Jörn Viggo Lofstad and mixed by Fredrik Nordstrøm - and
you have all of the ingredients you need for a great album. If
you shouldn't know Pagan's Mind, then I suggest you check this cool
album out. If you like power metal with a strong progressive edge,
then I am sure you will find much pleasure with this album, and if you
like me loves the first two albums from these Norwegians, then I am
sure you'll love this one as well ... Recommended tracks: "Supremacy, Our Kind",
"Celestial: Calling", "Taken" & "New
World Order" |
