Now,
you take equal doses of Fields of the Nephilim and Paradise Lost (circa
1993). The result of that mixture is the sixth album from Austrian
Jack Frost. If
you have one of those days where everything goes wrong and you want to
indulge in that feeling when you come home, Jack Frost is a great
lever. Gloomy and raw, with a vocalist/bass player that could be the
younger brother of Carl McCoy from Fields of the Nephilim, the grim
quartet from the land of Heidi-ho tear through eight depressive songs
of hopelessness and death wish. Beautiful
in its rock’n’heavy ugliness, “Wannadie Songs” makes you want
to cry when your day has been shitty and smash something when you get
your energy back. Nice
one! Go get it! Recommended
