When Vanize split up in 2002, 3 guys - Rolf Munkes (Guitars), Marcus Bielenberg (Bass) and Pierre Fienhold (Drums) decided to start a band with a more melodic approach to metal. First off they needed a new vocalist, who they found in Stefan Berggren (ex-Company Of Snakes) and later on Chris Heun (ex-Shylock) joined the band as their second guitarist. Razorback is not as the name or album cover of their album might suggest thrash- or death-metal, but a melodic metal band in the vein of Dokken. The combination of Rolf's very strong guitar-work and Stefan's good voice, makes me sure the album will go down well in the melodic metal community. Good, well produced, melodic metal with good choruses, that surely makes fun listening to... Recommended tracks: "The Hymn", "Eye Of The Storm" and "Kiss Of Death" |
