When I'm looking for toys for the kids, a lot is made in Taiwan, but I only know one metal band and that is this Chthonic. They have already released 7 albums and are quite a hit in their own country. This live DVD gives you a good introduction of what the bands stands for.

Their live performance at the Formoz Festival in Taipei with Chai Feng traditional orchestra along with Taiwanese Opera singer Tang Mei-Yun on the track "Defenders of the Bú-Tik Palace" is what you get to see in the first place. Besides that there are bonus features in the form of afterwords, interviews, behind the scene footage, 5 music videos and the making of of that same videos. Most important however is the first part and if you are familiar with the band, you sure will like their live performance. The sound is o.k. and the traditional symphonic parts collaborate nicely with the extreme heavy parts.

For fans of the band this is a nice piece for their collection and for those, who hardly know the band yet, this DVD might be the perfect introduction.
