I thought I had put on a unknown Withesnake or Rainbow album when I started to listen to the awesome opening track 'Graveyard City' on Voodoo Circle's new album 'More Than One Way Home'!! Magnificent vocals and marvelous guitars and a thick rhythm section spiced with a fat keyboard. No wonder that I felt a winning formula on how to make a great album.

From the go, I'm hooked. Alex Beyrodt on guitar is the brain in this exiting project, which has done two previous albums before this one. In 2008 they released their self-titled debut album and in 2011 came 'Broken Heart Syndrome'.

David Readman (Pink Creame 69) is the brilliant singer in Voodoo Circle and he is a solid powerhouse and sings in a Coverdale-style on the album with wailing and the significant moaning and groaning. It oozes of the UK 70th century blues / hard rock mixed with some flavors from Hendrix guitar elements. Matt Sinner on bass is one of Germany's real metal veterans with a history from Primal Fear and Sinner. Markus Kullman (Deperadoz) is doing the percussion work in the band. The keyboard master is Jimmy Kresic, who I have to get extra credits to. Extremely tight and pleasant old Hammond organ sounds!. These guys are no beginners that need to convince anyone what they are capable of. They have years and years of hard rock and metal in their blood and they deliver an album full of crazy rock songs that steam and boil of lovely classic hard rock like 'Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Gary Moore and Dio. Just listen to 'Heart of Babylon' or 'The Ghost In Your Heart'. Magic!! How can anyone dislike a song like 'More Than One Way Home'?

I'm ashamed that I have missed out on their earlier albums, but I promise it will be corrected immediately. This is clearly one of this winter's given purchases if you just like me appreciate well constructed melodic tracks done by instrumental craftsman that are working together as a single rocking unit and a vocalist in the top class.

They have also managed to mix and produce the album in world class, it's hard not to give a high rating, very high rating. The glossy and flawless production gives me a hard time to not put both my thumbs up...
