After a long absence from the rock scene Runaways icon Lita Ford made her comeback a few years ago on the giant Festival Stage at the Sweden Rock Festival. It was one of the worst performances through my years at Sweden Rock Festival. Awful, incoherent riffs and an out of sync band and several interrupted songs where Lita had forgotten the lyrics. A disaster gig. I was very critical and had absolutely no expectations when her latest studio album "Living Like a Runaway" was released in June, 2012. And what a surprise that album was for me. She swept me away and gave me a very good reason to always give people a second chance. Very personal and a very strong selection of songs convinced me that this lady has a lot to show all hard rock fans.

Now I got a live album recorded in Los Angeles with Lita in my possession and her rock band and it's certainly not on top of my wish list. Hmmm, Okay I give it a try. The title track 'The Bitch Is Back' is a cover of an old Elton John song and Lita have spiced that song up really well. In 'Hungry', 'Relentless' and 'Devil in my Head' Lita impress' me (and everyone else), and shows that she still can sing rock 'n' roll better than most of the younger female rock vocalists. I fancy the new and harsher rock tracks the best, but Lemmy's co-penned 'Can't Catch Me', which is a kick ass track and one of the best songs. 'Hate' is probably the strongest and heaviest song on this disc.

The old hit songs 'Close My Eyes Forever' and 'Kiss Me Deadly' are given tracks on a Lita Ford live album. Well, a very raw and down-to-earth rock 'n' roll album with good live feelings and a positive experience. This is one of the best live albums I've heard this year.

I predicted a sub 50 score, but I was wrong and it's much more fun to give a far higher rating than I had in mind.

Line up:
Lita Ford – Vocals / Guitar
Mitch Perry – guitar
Bobby Rock – Drums
Marty O'Brien – Bass
