After reviewing Helker and Heavatar, the third power metal band this month with an H is on the table. Italian based combo Heimdall does what most of the Italian power metal bands do, serve us heroic epic power metal Italian style.

After the heroic intro the band takes us on a journey with battles and adventures through the underworld of Hades and beyond the Gates of War. Singer Gandolfo Ferro has the high power metal singing style with the typical Italian accent, but I somehow have gotten used to that. Everything we know from the power metal genre passes by: neo classical guitar soli, speedier tracks, piano interludes, choir singing and symphonic instrumental parts. There is a lot to enjoy on this new album, but Heimdall still doesn't take the step up to the real power metal top. They stay a good sub-topper, but for the power metal fans; there is nothing wrong with this album.
