Autumn and cooler
days are coming upon us, but when the guys in Work Of Art releases the sequel to the magic disc from 2008 "Art Work"
it lights my
world up quite a lot. Because these 3 talented swedes have created a
masterpiece with "In Progress" and they do it with a very polished and mature sound that
captivates my body and soul. As an melodic rock fan, I think this will be a classic rock album that will be remembered as a timelessly
classic rock work and become a milestone in
the AOR genre.
It's Toto class in the production and the amazing Lars
Säfsund on vocals delivers his usual marvelous high and clear tones. But the
brains and the songwriters in WoA is Robert Sall and Heramn Furin and they have
really found their own trademark in the AOR/melodic rock heaven, and already
from the first minute on
the album I recognize the special Scandinavian AOR sound that WoA does the best.
Fans of Toto, Giant, Talisman, House of Lords - This is a album you gotta have in
your collection!
With "Art Work" they broke the ice for more melodic rock bands from Sweden and
with "In Progress"; the sea is wide open for them.
My favourite songs changes from day to day,
and so all tracks are favourites and that's not happening everyday.
