Arcite hails from Newcastle and with this 5-track EP they try to open doors. First I have to say that the music is quite all right, it listens away easily. Why? Because with every track I have the idea to have heard it once before. That is the band's pitfall, the lack of originality. The genre they are in is so overwhelmed and if you want to shine there: there has to be something in the music that catches the eye, or should I say ear.

The first track is a little bit Lamb of God like, and after that the Killswitch Engage mark lies on top of the music. The vocals are the usual combination of screaming and grunting and in the last track the usual clean singing appears, which makes it all too average and predictable. The musical skills are there, but I didn't hear new ideas, this band doesn't add anything to the 1000 others in the genre.
