Sworn Amongst
Severance
Rating
Style: Thrash Metal
Release date: February 15th 2010

Sworn Amongst is back with third album and the title is ‘Severance’. Sound and style wise we are talking old school thrash mixed with modern thrash but everything is wrapped up in a disappointing production in my humble opinion. Especially the production on the drums leaves a lot to be desired... the sound is dry and lacks power... and the drums are recorded quite loud...

Well... ‘Severance’ won’t grow on me... not even after several listens. There are great riffing here and there... but I have heard it all before. This release never really ignites. The band shifts from mid-tempo to up-tempo thrash but they need riffs that will punch you in the stomach...

‘Severance’ is not above average in my opinion... but do have in mind that I have an awful taste in music, so this album might be right for you?

Check it out.
