Summon the Stone Throwers
Rating
Style: Epic Metal / Doom
Release date: April 20th 2010

You have to be a fan of this kind of music to find this album super. If you are into 80's epic doom metal influenced by Manilla Road, Cirith Ungol, Doomsword and little pieces of Manowar this will be your album of the month. The lyrics deal with the usual subjects; such as ancient fantasy worlds ruled by the sword and the lance.

I am not so very excited about this kind of music. After a few songs I get bored, the tempo is too slow and there is too little variation. The clashing swords, the grooves, the dry static doomy riffs and the vocals are all rather well done and the songs are not bad either, but it can not excite me. As I said before, this album will only be liked by old-fashioned epic metal heads that swear to slow doomy music. I think, I would have liked it a little more with a bit more tempo.

The above rating is as always my personal view; genre-fans can add at least 20 points.
