I am really looking forward to the Aalborg Metal Festival in November. Only one thing worries me slightly: Monster Magnet is the headliner. I can see it go two ways: A. The US rockers pull out a bunny of the tophat and throw us a blistering show. B. Monster Magnet goes all psychedelic on us and disappear in one big, boring jam session.

Now, why do I say something as harsh as that? Well, judging from the new album, 'Mastermind', there is little direction and no real songs to be expected from the before-quite-cool Monster Magnet. The Doors is more of an inspiration than Metallica, that's for sure. And I'm not buying it. It's going nowhere in my humble opinion. Plain boring.

Next, please.
