Day Six
The Grand Design
Rating
Style: Progressive Metal
Release date: June 18th 2010

Day Six from Holland has what it takes to make an impact; excellent musicianship, an identity, a great vocalist, well constructed and executed songs, a well balanced production and an interesting concept about an extraterrestrial spaceship found in Lake Vostok, Antarctica.

And I am sure that they will raise a few eyebrows among progressive metal fans, because even though their influences are quite clear to most, in this case bands like Dream Theater, Pain of Salvation and Pink Floyd play a prominent role, they have managed to create an album that sounds special, and "The Grand Design" is a very solid building block for them and one of the better debut albums in this genre this year.

Good one.
