So here it finally is: Denmark’s first real take on the goth rock/metal genre. Not the goth metal as in Paradise Lost ‘Gothic’  kind of vain – those we had – but goth metal as in the HIM, Sentenced or Type O Negative sort of thing.

And it’s a good take on the genre. Well-defined, tight, a decent singer plus a fine production and mix (mixed by Tommy Hansen who did Helloween when they were cool, Illdisposed and HateSphere).

Although it’s a complete betrayal of the style, even the added growl on the title track blends in alright and provides a nice surprise in a slow goth rock tune that could potentially have been a bit of a bore.

Once this band has found itself completely and has managed to shed the total genre clichés (take one glance at the list of song titles below), my guess is that we’ll hear very interesting music from them.
