Thrash metal legends DEFIANCE was formed back in 1985 and has released 3 albums, but decided to take a (long) break in 1992. But they are back on the scene with a brand new album called ‘The Prophecy’.

Sound and style wise the band’s music is Bay Area thrash metal with a progressive edge. The musicians know how to handle their instruments and the production is quite good... however a bit “dry”. But well... every instrument is clearly audible.

But how about the songs? – Well... ‘The Prophecy’ is quite good, and the mighty TESTAMENT really comes to mind on most tracks, however I miss something. Even though that songs such as; “The War Inside”, “Sloth” and “Eyes of the Front”  have rocked my world and kicked my ass seriously, I don’t feel like playing it over and over again. But ‘The Prophecy’ will certainly find the way into my player from time to time.

Check it out.
