If you are looking for a different sounding power metal album then look no further, because the wall of sound coming straight at you from this supergroup sounds like no other...

Hiding behind the futuristic sounding name X-World/5 is Nils K. Rue (Pagan's Mind) on vocals, Magnus Rosén (ex-HammerFall) on bass, Reeves Gabrels (ex-David Bowie) on guitars, Andy La Roque (King Diamond) on guitars and Big Swede on drums.

The idea behind it all was created by Magnus, who wanted to create 'heavy metal of the year 3006', and together with drummer/programmer Big Swede he started getting the band together for this project. Reeves Gabrels, known for his spacy and experimental guitar sounds is perfectly complimented by Andy La Roque's heavy sounding guitars, and the rhythm section lays down some serious bass and pounding drum sounds. And to take the songs to the next level they've hired one of the most critically acclaimed vocalists around at the moment: Nils K. Rue, who delivers another great performance.

They haven't re-invented heavy metal, but they have gone all the way with the concept and with success. The well written, played and produced album is a very nice breath of fresh air in an environment that otherwise is growing a bit stale.

Good one!
