Oliver who?
When I received this album the name was a total unknown to me, but as it turns
out he has taken part on a talent show on the telly here in Denmark; X-Factor. A
show my sister's kids love, but something totally unknown for me, so I won't be
influenced one way or another by his participation on that show.
He has
co-written the songs with guitarist Søren Andersen (Superfuzz), with the
exception of the two cover-versions, which have found their way onto the album:
"Army of Me" (Björk) and 'The Show Must Go On", which he sang in the X-Factor
contest as I can understand. Søren Andersen has produced the album as well.
Completing the line-up is two titans in rock: Marco Mendoza (Ex-Whitesnake, Thin
Lizzy etc.) on the bass and Tommy Aldridge (Ex-Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne etc.)
on the drums.
The line of
prominent names doesn't stop here, the fine tuning has been carried out by Jacob
Hansen (Volbeat, Raunchy), who has mixed the album, and Tim Christensen - of
fame in Denmark - appears with a guitar solo on the first single "Hands High".
'Get Ready's
is a fine hard rock album with ten very well arranged, sounding and played song
as well as two cool cover-versions. The songs are catchy and have been polished
and shaped into a form that fits Oliver's voice perfectly, and he answers with a
very good vocal performance. The songs have all been spiced up with a solid
potion of pop rock, which gives the album has a fine chance to become a
sales-success, if it receives the right backing.
Good one!
