Waltari
The 2nd Decade - In the Cradle
Rating
Style: Crossover Jumble metal
Release date: September 10th 2008

In Finland the band has a high status, outside of Finland their popularity is declining. With this so called "best off" record they give us the opportunity to get to know the band. Most of the songs have been taken from the records they have released since 1999. The stuff before is not on the record, that's why it is called the 2nd decade!

I expect that the best tracks will be chosen to be put on a recapitulation record. That does not count for Waltari. O.k., some songs are all right, but I would have chosen some different tracks. I'm also not waiting to hear radio versions or radio edits, the real ones are much better. The last 3 songs are Unplugged sessions in Roshalm, Porvoo. Nice for the people who where present, to me it doesn't add anything. Oh, before I forget, "In the Cradle" is actually a new song, not bad, but not good either.

I find this release a redundant one, but perhaps that is because I know a lot of their earlier work. Perhaps for people who don't know the band yet, this is the first step to check their earlier albums as well.
