Toxic Holocaust is Joel Grind. Although the band has done some live-shows, all the music and lyrics and the whole concept is by Joel. Other members are not mentioned, so I guess it's a solo project. Who stand beside him on stage? I haven't got a clue, but let’s go to the music.

The band, or should I say Joel, is influenced by bands such as Venom (first albums), Bathory (first albums) and some Celtic Frost and early punk influences (Discharge) can be added. First song "Wild Dogs" immediately gives you a good impression of that. Just before getting bored, the song "Future Shock" takes away a little tempo and has more melody. But after that the songs are very much the same, and to me there is not enough variety. In "The Lord of the Wasteland" I hear some Motörhead coming by, but that can not get me overexcited again.

The song I like the most is "Feedback, Blood and Distortion"; this is a fast song with some tempo changes and a nice metal attitude. To make a long story short, to me it is all a little too much of the same. I have never been a fan of Venom, and maybe that counts.

However, if you are still waiting for Venom to make a decent record and still think the first couple of Bathory albums are the best albums he made, this is meat for you! You can add at least 10 points to my final score.
