The Seventh Power
Dominion & Power
Rating
Style: White Metal
Release date: September 26th 2008

Last May Retroactive re-released their first record and now there is the new one. My colleague Soren already described the musical influences of the band. He wrote that Ozzy is one of them, and also on the new record that's a fact. Also fans of Black Sabbath and Titanic might be interested.

I find the music not bad, but it is not special either. I can't say as said in the info that there are mighty guitar riffs, killer song writing and an unique voice that make it special. O.k., Bill Menchen has a unique voice, but for me it is over the limit. This Robo Ozzy, he sounds as if Ozzy and Robocop got a child, makes the songs unpleasant to listen to. I can understand that a band wants to protrude, but this is not the (Lord's) way.

The lyrics are all again about the Lord and in a way that it gets a little too preachy. With the music they play now and especially with this vocals, I don't think there will be a lot people who will convert. People, who only listen to white-metal can try this one, for people, who don't care that much about the lyrics; there are better way's to spend your money.
