The non-conformists from Sacramento, California; Tesla will
in my book always be one of the best Hard Rock bands, and at the
same time one of the most underappreciated rock bands on the planet.
And where they really excel is live on stage, and on this awesome
live DVD they kick some serious ass all night long.
So after their fantastic 'Forever more' album Tesla fans are
treated with another treat in form of a great live recording
captured for us the fans to watch and enjoy, showing a band having
fun, delivering a tight and diverse show in their true environment:
live on stage. Shot at a sold-out concert in Maplewood, Minnesota at
the Myth Nightclub on a cold Friday evening in February this year.
Centre of attention is off course the dynamic duo of lead guitarist
Frank Hannon and vocalist Jeff Keith, but the real stars of the show
are the songs, and no matter if they turn to new or old stuff the
proven formula works, and all the way it is an easy stroll down
victory lane and the crowd loves every second of the show.
My personal favourites are the brilliant "Paradise" (the lead break
and the harmonies are still among the every written), "Love Song"
(pure emotions), "Song and
Emotion", the very emotional song dedicated to the late Steve Clark
(Def Leppard) and off course excellent power ballad "Lil' Suzi",
but this best of Tesla performed live on stage is simply a
great compilation of great rock songs, and along with some goodies
for the fans makes this one a mandatory purchase for Tesla fans
around the globe.
Music DVD of the Year in my humble opinion.
