Tall Stories is the band Steve Augeri was in before Tyketto and Journey, but this is more than just his once-about-time band and about showcasing his vocal talent, this is a team effort.
The band has been reborn in its original line-up, and the diversity in backgrounds has flown directly into the songs and sounds, and this is not your average hard rock band. The span wide from blues, up-tempo hard rock, gospel, funk to melodic rock, and they are opening chapter two of the band's history with style.
This is basic bluesy hard rock with balls, each song offers something new and fresh, and the diversity and dynamics make this album worth listening to. The diversity could turn some people away from this album and some of the songs do drift a bit into mediocrity, but there is still plenty of good rock music for hard rock freaks.
