And So It Begins

Style: Thrash Metal

Sworn Amongst hails from UK and this album called ”And So It Begins” is their debut full-length album and so far they have received quite good reviews so I was quite eager to give it a listen or 6.

Their music is somewhere between Testament/Megadeth/In Flames and Pantera and at times quite groovy. But even after numerous listens I’m left disappointed. The music is well-played and the production by Mark Daghorn is excellent but I miss something.

Even though that they are focusing on strong riffs I’m left with a feeling that this release is too... polished. I miss the aggression... and this is supposed to be thrash metal, right? Well, let’s call it heavy metal fronted by a thrash metal vocalist.

It’s kinda funny... because I really enjoy to listen to ”And So It Begins” because of the strong riffs but when the CD is done I only remember a riff or two. Sad but true.

No doubt that this band has potential but let’s wait and see what they can up with on their next release.

Check it out and be your own judge.
