After the Church organs, the first song starts with heavy powerful fast riffs. In combination with the slow drum-rhythm it gives me the same kind of feeling I feel with the title song of Metal Church. The melodic, serene and high vocals of Chuck Williams are a mixture of John Arch (ex-Fates Warning) and Tony Hornell (ex-TNT). As a matter of fact, the whole song breaths out a Fates Warning atmosphere, but then a bit heavier.
In 'The Perfect Picture' Royal Hunt meets Fates Warning, the sublime singing of Chuck and the sparkling guitar solo of Don La Fon convince me completely. This is a pearl in my hands. The third song is a little slower and more rock-oriented. Starting with the famous words "I Had a Dream" (for those who do not know who said it, be ashamed!) the band shows they do not only play excellent music, but write intelligent lyrics as well. The ballad'sk song 'April 19, 1995' is followed by the song 'Zero Hour'; heavy ands soft piano-parts vary each other in that track.
Still not convinced? Just listen to 'Saved in Time', tight riffs, a tight rhythm-section and again the beautiful vocals make this one of the best songs on the album. Ending the record with the well chosen TNT-cover 'Seven Seas' I immediately push the repeat button. Fans of Fates Warning, TNT,Kamelot, Savatage, Shadow Gallery andRoyal Hunt don't hesitate any longer...
