Bill Menchen is mainly known as guitarist for both “Titanic” and “Final Axe”. “Seventh Power” is Menchen's baby, almost all aspects of the music is done by himself (guitars, keys and vocals).

The music is mainly inspired by Black Sabbath and the early solo career of Ozzy Osbourne. We  get heavy riffs (often very nicely written) and good bluesy solos soaring in the soundscape every now and then, which in my opinion really saves the day.

I miss some surprises in the form of some time changes or by showing some diversity vocal wise. Bill Menchen's voice sounds like Ozzy reincarnated as a cyborg. The fact that he sound robotic and mechanic doesn't really help on the monotonism.

Non-the-less “Seventh Power” is an OK record, it's good to put on while reading, good chamber music in other words. The CD would probably have received 10 more points from me if it wasn't for the lyrics, I have no problem with Christianity, what so ever, but this just tends to get way to preaching. I can handle Neal Morse, but this just gets too much.

Seventh Power is a fair “late seventies inspired” heavy metal output... At least If you're able to disregard the Christian preaching lesson...
