Scamp is a Danish modern metal band, which already has made a name in their home-country. Scarlet Records signed them after the band had recorded two EP's. After the last EP, 'Re-Draft' they did live performances with Mnemic, Mercenary, Stonegard, Darkane and Evergrey  and that has given them a respected position in the metal scene.

The music is a mixture of Meshuggah, Fear Factory, Textures combined with more modern influences of In Flames, Chimaira and Devin Townsend. The rhythms are tight and have a lot of variety. The complex riffs and the mostly aggressive singing (there are also clean parts) make the record a punch in your face. The many rhythm changes and highly technical songs don't make it easy to listen to, but fans of FF and Meshuggah won't mind. Some songs have melodic passages with clean singing parts, but they don't overdo it, just enough.

Don't get me wrong now, Scamp isn't just a mixture of both bands, they have a face of their own as well, but their music isn't just straightforward and easy to listen to.

The perfect production of Ziggy and the mastering done by Tue Madsen makes the album complete. A good record for fans who like it technical, groovy and with a touch of melody.
