I remember back in the 80’s when I was listening to Paganini’s ‘Weapon of Love’ and ‘It’s a Long Way to the Top’ with a smile on my face. Then I lost track of them and I was quite surprised when this, their latest album entitled ‘Medicine Man’ showed up.
Well... I was very eager to check it out... with a smile on my face... but now numerous listens later I’m left very disappointed... with tears in my eyes. Their music is quite modern AOR/Hard Rock and doesn’t sound like the Paganini I knew. Except for one single track this album just isn’t happening. I miss a catchy riff and I certainly miss a catchy chorus.
I rather dust off my old Paganini LP’s and listen to them instead... with a smile on my face.
30 points for one great track and 10 for an excellent production = 40!
