This is my first experience with this German, dark ambient/experimental band called ORPLID but not my last, I’m sure.

Well... this brand new release entitled “Greifenherz” has very little to do with metal but that certainly does not mean that it’s bad, because it is not. It’s just a very different piece of music... at least for me.

We are talking some kind of, dark ambient – experimental – industrial, here, with a breathtaking but very cold atmosphere. The low male vocals are spiced with beautiful female, almost “dreaming vocals”, sounds absolutely excellent to me.

I just can’t stop listening to “Greifenherz”... it’s not background music, believe me... but needs your attention. The CD is perfect for me at the moment. I put it on when I go to sleep and I let the atmospheric music take me to a deeper state of mind. I feel I’m drifting away, and suddenly I’m one with the music.

I almost couldn’t believe my own ears when I threw this CD in my CD-player for the very first time. And if someone told me at that point that ORPLID would broadened my horizon when it comes to music, I would have laughed deeply. But that’s a fact. ORPLID has really broadened my horizon when it comes to music.

This is music for a particular mood but it’s easy to become lost in it, with no distractions. Try it out. It works for me.
