Order of Nine
A Means to Known End
Rating
Style: Power Metal
Release date: April 1st 2008

Well played power metal peppered with a touch of progressive metal done the American way with pounding drums, shredding guitars, a decent production and a singer, who has his limitations are the ingredients offered by Order of Nine from the US.

'A Means to Know End' is a solid piece of metal with influences from the days when dinosaurs like Savatage, Queensr˙che and Sanctuary ruled the power metal world. Singer Michael Degrena has a very unique voice and he sets the pace on this album with his performance, he will never be a favourite of mine, but he fits the music perfectly. All things are done with conviction and the album is very well balanced, but it fails to ignite and really take off...

All things considered this is a fine album, one that has its moments but really need the special spice, which would make it stand out. Fine, but never outstanding is the verdict from me, but give the album a chance because it wins a little with each listening...

Recommended tracks; "A Means to Know End", "An Offered Hand" & "Last Dance".
