M.ILL.ION from Sweden was formed back in 1989 by bass player and song writer B.J. Laneby and they are about to release their brand new album entitled ‘Thrill of the Chase’... their 6th by the way.

M.ILL.ION are influenced by everything from KISS, BLACK SABBATH, DEEP PURPLE, WHITESNAKE, THIN LIZZY, RAINBOW, DIO, UFO and even QUEEN.

The promo-CD I’m holding in my hands contains 12 tracks of pure hard rock and most of the above mentioned bands come to my mind when the CD rotates in my CD-player.

Most of the songs on ‘Thrill of the Chase’ are quite good but they have thrown in a few fillers as well in my humble opinion and even though I get the feeling that I’ve heard it all before I still enjoy this album. Take a listen to tracks like; “Thrill of the Chase”, “U.F.O.”, “From Heaven to Hell”, and “Beware of the Wolf” and you’ll discover a band that certainly has the potential to make it out there. However, not every single track is up there with the above mentioned tracks, so it leaves me somewhere between heaven and hell... and I keep asking myself the same question over and over again: -Should I order this album or not? -My wallet will decide in the end, I think!

‘Thrill of the Chase’ is mixed at the famous Bohus Studio (ABBA, STATUS QUO) in Sweden by Tobias Lindell together with B.J. Laneby and features guest appearances of Lanvall (EDENBRIDGE) and Tommy Denander (RADIOACTIVE).

A solid piece of hard rock for sure... but let’s see what they can come up with on their next album.

Check it out.
