Here we have yet another melodic (hard) rock band for all the suckers of catchy hooks and memorable choruses. MIDNITE CLUB hails from Germany and the brain behind the band is guitar virtuoso Steffen “Seegi” Seeger, student of guitar legend Joey Tafolla.
Behind the microphone is singer Carsten “Lizard” Schultz (Evidence One, Domain) and
at first listen MIDNITE CLUB sounds like a softer version of Domain...
‘Circus of life’ starts with 2 great melodic rockers namely “Circus” and “Afraid of Love” two songs that really shows the potential of MIDNITE CLUB. Catchy choruses and catchy hooks are all over the first 2 tracks. So a good start, but unfortunately the CD does not manage to keep it at such a high throughout the whole playing time. There are a few fillers to be found here and there but all in all a solid album from the Germans.
What this album needs is a few spins. Don’t give up on it if it doesn’t hit you at first. Give it the
time to blossom and I’m sure that any self respecting Melodic Fan will find this release both appealing and rewarding.
