Metalium
has
always stood for solid melodic power metal, and chapter seven 'Incubus' doesn't
change that fact one bit. No big progress is to report and the keep the same
level of quality they had on their previous six albums.
Like it has
been the case with most of their albums prior to this one, they can't keep the
standard high throughout the entire album. The album kicks off with a few middle
of the road songs "Trust", "Resurrection" and "Gates", before the album really
kicks off starting with the title track. But the level sadly drops again and the
last three are back at the starting level.
You kind of
know what to expect from Metalium when they release a new album, and once
more they do no disappoint, but on the other hand they do not surprise either...
Henning Besse is still one of the best German power metal vocalists, and the
songs are all well played and solid, but the something extra is still missing...
