Looking forward to the warmth of the summer, Machinery starts their new record with the song "Cold". This song makes my blood reach to boiling point (what should be strange for a song called cold). It is a mixture of Nevermore, Communic, Scar Symmetry, Mercenary and Morgana Lefay. The vocals of Michel Isberg are a mixture of Warell Dane (Nevermore) and Charles Rytkönen (Morgana Lefay). Michel combines his clean singing with an aggressive and in the songs to come, also grunting style. The way he screams coooooooooooooold!!! Makes my hair rise. (he he)

Leaning back already exhausted in my chair, expecting the second song "Reason Is the Truth" to carry on in the same style, I get blown away by a song in Strapping Young Lad style. This shows the diversity in music Machinery play. The third song is musically more like the first one. "Delirium in Vengeance" is again a heavy fast motherfucker with aggressive vocals. Although the more extreme songs are good, I prefer songs like "Cold" and the amazing last track "Waiting for the Wave". But maybe the variety with the aggressive songs makes the other ones even better.

Most of the songs are backed by a nice keyboard carpet and are intense, emotional, aggressive and melodic at the same time. Singer Michel delivers a high performance in the clean singing department as well as in aggressive screaming and low grunting. The guitars have a heavy and compact sound and the rest of the members play as solid as a rock. The perfect production of Jonas Kjellgren makes the whipped cream on the cake. Critics could say that there are to much different styles in Machinery's music, but don't listen to them...

This month my points go to................................... Sweden. A must buy!
