My wife doesn't react anymore when the volume now and then is turned a few decibels more up and she isn't surprised when I'm going crazy, listening to some first class metal. But for the past week or so she has had doubts about me being mentally ill or ready for the nut-house. Running around like a lunatic, trying to create a mosh pit on my own and practising the wall of death with one of the concrete walls is even for my wife not a regular experience.

What is going on? The new Legion of the Damned - that's what's going on. The crunchy, brutal, hypnotizing and chainsaw riffs of this Dutch thrash band are amazing and not matched by anyone yet. The bass punches are in Sadus style, the drums are merciless and of course Maurice Swinkels grasping vocals are aggressive and evil-sounding as always. I don't think there will be better thrash songs this year than "Pray and Suffer", "Final Godsend" and "Solar Overlord", just to name a few. I hope Slayer gets a copy of this album as well, and then they know where to put the standard.

With this album Legion of the Damned has taken another step forward, this album has almost had the same impact on me as Slayer's 'Angel of Death' had.

For those thrashers who can't decide what present to ask for for Christmas; I would recommend this one. You won't regret it. Be one of the first, to be sure you get yourself the Limited Edition-CD + Bonus DVD + Bonus-CD!
