Right, so much for me thinking that leaving HateSphere was commercial suicide for Jacob Bredahl. With the debut release from his new band Last Mile, he has proved that he’s on the right track in terms of power and potential.
In 28 minutes, Last Mile teach the listener a lesson in raw and groovy hardcore with probably the best guitar sound I’ve heard to date on a hardcore release.
Ex-As We Fight fronter Laurits Medom’s vocal has a tinge of desperation and thus adds a bit of chaos to the otherwise tightly controlled musical output of the rest of the band. The rhythm section with Lennart Hansen (Stomped) behind the drums and Bredahl’s band mate from Barcode, Michael Sørensen, on the the bass is solid as a rock and has been granted a perfect mix by Tue Madsen.
Pure coolness, this one. Go try it out! It’s a band we’re going to hear a lot more from, rest assured.
