Land of Tales is a new band based in Finland. Kristian (guitar and vocals) and Palle (Keyboards) have been doing music together since they were six and seven. Playing together for more than fifteen years in a band called Naiskala; Kristian wanted to play more adult oriented rock music and started writing songs. After uploading the songs to Myspace and getting response from all over the world, Frontiers Records picked them up.

Recruiting Sami on bass and Sami O. on drums they recorded their debut. Expect melodic rock with catchy melodies, huge choruses and with the keyboards rather in front. The opening song "Silence" is immediately my favourite, and that is a pity, because therefore the others don't impress me. The combination of the guitar riffs, keyboards and singing is in this song in balance.

Further on, I get the feeling that the song writing is still something to work on and the singing do at times get a bit annoying and on the edge of false. This is a clear case of: 'Close but no Cigar'. On the other hand the band has reason for existence, with just a bit more originality (the keyboard parts are a little too simple) and some work on the singing-parts, then next time will be a whole box of cigars.
