Translated from the Russian alphabet, Kypck [Kursk] is the new quartet formed by well-know Sentenced guitarist Sami Lopakka and the producer of HIM, Monspell and many others, K.H.M Hiilesmaa on the drums.

Kypck is a doomsday band singing in Russian. This first record is very original and very thoroughly thought through, should be easy to remember!

The concept is to retrace the history of 'Kursk', from the name of the Russian city first recorded in 1032 to the sinking of the ship of the same name, the K-141, in 2000. The latter is clearly the inspiration of the music.

The atmosphere of the submarine in danger, the oppression and claustrophobia, are expressed through easy, heavy riffs, well chosen metallic guitar sound and effects, even the final sobs of the immersed last survivor, and lyrics in Russian that give the music a whole new dimension; all these elements contribute to make of Cherno a memorable record.
Moreover, the production is excellent.

This record should be listened to from beginning to end without interruption, almost in a state of meditation, when you feel your temples can bear such low pressure.
