Harmony
Chapter II: Aftermath
Rating
Style: Melodic Power Metal
Release date: October 31st 2008

The promise Harmony made with their very impressive EP 'End of My Road' is kept with 'Chapter II: Aftermath', which will easily help them establish themselves at the top of a long and proud line of Swedish Power Metal bands. That is if there is a Metal God watching over them, and the album receives the recognition it deserves.

Harmony is musically located somewhere in the grey zone between Yngwie Malmsteen, Symphony X, Kamelot and classic Swedish Power Metal. The album is packed with catchy and melodic power metal songs nicely peppered with plenty of neo-classical leads, harmonies and duels between guitarist Markus Sigfridsson and keyboard player Magnus Holmberg, and on top of everything we are given a great vocal performance by Henrik Båth.

Only a few inches short of brilliant, but still a very impressive album from another force to reckoned with from Sweden - and no, no Swedish blood runs in my veins. The album does drop a little bit in the middle and I wish they had made room for the two 'left-overs' from the EP; however the result is still a first class power metal album worthy of your attention!
