Rating
Style: Heavy Metal
Release date: June 2008

The CD from Polish band Grimlord landed on my desk for a review. I know some bands from Poland and most of them play Death Metal. Grimlord however is more into heavy metal with a few German metal influences. You can hear that this isn't a top production, but I think we might not expect that from a self released CD.

The ideas in the songs and the song writing is rather general, but not bad. Most of the songs are average. The music is a mix from German Metal, sometimes fast and even a bit thrashy, and then sometimes groovy. A mix of early Running Wild and Iron Maiden. So far so good, but there is one thing that makes this a below average record. That is the vocal part. Barth La Picard has not a very good voice. After a few songs the accent gets annoying.

Summary: The music is o.k., the production a little less, the vocals below average.
