George Bellas... an excellent guitarist known for his work with John West, the world famous classical pianist Vitalij Kuprij, Ring of Fire, Jason Becker and Magellan among others, has released a new solo album entitled "Planetary Alignment".

10 tracks of very progressive instrumental rock music are to be found on “Planetary Alignment” and he is certainly innovative... and a very, very skilled musician... no doubt about that. BUT...

this album is very, very progressive (as written above) but the 10 tracks aren't really that exciting to me. Every single track sounds almost the same to me... and I lose interest in this album already after the first 3 tracks.

Maybe this is something for musicians? The “song” structures are somewhat reminiscent of jazz... right? And there are no real riffs... just endless advanced guitar playing... but sadly too boring for my taste.

When I listen to this CD I find myself doing other things such as; Doing the laundry, watching TV... Heck... I even took my dog for a walk... and I don’t even have a dog.... damn!

It's not fair to rate this album... because it certainly isn't my cup of tea!
