Forever Slave
Tales for Bad Girls
Rating
Style: Nu-goth
Release date: April 7th 2008

The cover is a bit weird and very cool. That’s about the best thing I can say about the second album from Spanish Forever Slave.

The band’s got a dynamic and very modern sound, and that is nice, but when the sound is not backed up by proper song writing, you have a major problem. And Forever Slave is in major trouble in deed.

The most moving track is GothiX Girls, which by the way also mixes the female voice of singer Lady Angellyca with a male shout. And already by song number three that male roar feels like la momentary release from the pain.

I like female voices in metal, and especially goth-inspired metal, I really do. But in this case, Lady A’s voice is really getting on my tits. It’s something in the pitch, I don’t know, but I can’t stand listening to it for more than three minutes at a time.

Next, please – quickly!
