Well... I’m quite surprised by FEAR MY THOUGHTS brand new album ’Isolation’ because this is surely a bold release. Sound and style wise they are almost completely different from the style of ‘Vulcanus’ (2007)... errrr let me try to explain; If you mix bands like Soilwork, Rush, Tool, Nickelback and Metallica with a few modern metal bands, then you have the sound and style of ‘Isolation’... I think (LOL).

The first time I threw it in my player I couldn’t figure out if I liked what I heard... but after a few spins the music somehow grew on me. Well at least some of it.

New singer Martin Fischer adds a new dimension to FEAR MY THOUGHTS and he fits their new direction okay. But then again... I’m still quite puzzled! I like what they try to do and I do like some of the stuff here, but then again it bores the hell out of me with repeated listens.

I’m really curios to hear and see how their fans will receive this album. Some might like it, and some might hate it. But I think that most of them will find themselves right between heaven and hell. Just like me!

At least ‘Isolation’ is packed with ideas, so check it out now.
