Farther Paint
Lose Control
Rating
Style: Progressive Metal
Release date: December 5th 2008

The kind of progressive metal Farther Paint plays fits right in with so many other bands. Female fronted progressive metal with occasional journeys into psychedelic and industrial territory, mostly due to the massive keyboard sounds up-front.

Vocalist Monia Rossi comes across as a thinner version of Ji-In Cho (Krypteria), and I do miss some power from her, get in the game girl! The music itself is craftsmanship of the finer kind, and the technical level is very high, and when the band let the guards down and showcases their skills - like they do on the two instrumental tracks on the album you are never in doubt about the fact that we are dealing with some very good musicians here.

Farther Paint does have the foundation to something bigger, and this is a clear signal of things to come, but you have to crawl before you can walk. 'Lose Control' is a fine new beginning for the band, and with some fine tuning and adjustments in the right places I am sure we'll hear more and better things from them in the future.
