Well... one of my favourite Symphonic Metal bands is back with a brand new album, entitled “MyEarthDream”... namely Edenbridge from Austria. I was quite impressed with "The Grand Design” (2006) so I was quite eager to check out their new one as well.

I was a little disappointed at first but now after numerous listens I like it a lot. Edenbridge worked with the Czech Film Orchestra while recording this album and together they have developed a marvellous soundscape peppered with a great production.

The guitars are a tad heavier and crunchier than ever and the sound is more bombastic and powerful with the addiction of the Film Orchestra. The songs are melodic and memorable but needed a few spins to grow. I’m especially impressed with ‘Remember Me’, ‘Place of Higher Power’ and the title-track, the more than 12 minutes long ‘MyEarthDream’.

Well this album is not quite up there with “The Grand Design” in my humble opinion... but it’s still very enjoyable. Actually the only thing that annoys we with this promo-CD is that it’s packed with voice-overs. Some guy telling me that I’m listening to the new Edenbridge album over and over again. I know why they are doing it... but it’s still REALLY, REALLY annoying.

Well... the “real” CD don’t contains voice-overs... so order this album right away if you’re into female fronted Symphonic Metal. I know I will.
