Dominoe had commercial success back in 1988, when their debut single became an overnight success in Germany. The song "Here I Am" was featured in a Renault commercial, the name of the car was R5 and it gave the band a lot of exposure on television all over Europe.

A lot of years have passed since those hay-days, and the two guys behind the band - Robert Papst and Jörg Sieber - remained friends and share the love for writing mainstream rock songs. Together they have created another fine rock album, but a lot of time has passed by and a lot has happened in the music business since... so where does that leave the band today?

I am pretty convinced that their fans won't be found among our readers, this is simply too commercial and mainstream! They are still capable of writing catchy rock songs with striking vocals, but fifteen pop rock songs is a bit too much for me. I miss a hard and heavy edge to the songs, even a bit of aggression - but that is nowhere to be found on this album.

'The Story is Far From Told...' is a very, very mainstream rock album with lots of cheesy pop songs, so if you need an album for a quiet evening with the girlfriend this might be something for you, otherwise listen very carefully before buying!
