Destination's Calling has recorded quite an impressive
album, which has its roots in the same soil that brought us bands like
Avantasia/Edguy, Gamma Ray and Queensr˙che. With the addition of some well
placed melodic and progressive touches, we are treated with some real quality
metal here.
But even though there is some really well played and produced
music on 'Invisible Walls', it won't shatter the metal world, simply due to the
fact that great musicianship, good song writing and a good production isn't
enough in today's very competitive power metal world. You need a good backing, a
bit of luck and you must stand out...
A short intro, nine solid songs and a killer song to finish
the album,
I would have been over the moon had they created an album where
all songs were at the same high level as "Destination's Calling". 'Invisible
Walls' should at the very least put them on the
map, and if they can build on this strong offering, then I am sure we will hear
a lot from them in the time to come.
