Love is for the Other Guys
Rating
Style: 80's Hard Rock
Release date: May 2008

Dennis Develin, en veteran fra den Københavnske hard rock verden har som medlem af bands som: Starry Eyes, Cult glamour band Sticky Sweet,Pure Innocence and lately he played in the macho metal band Club Hell. No, I'm not going to do the review in Danish, but for all you Danish people I started with a line as stated in the info that goes with the promo. I must say that there are a lot of similarities in Dutch and Danish.

But cut the crap and talk music. For me Dennis Develin was a name I never heard before, but I think he will have some popularity in Denmark. This new record brings back memories from the mid 80's. Nice (party) hard rock songs in the style of Mötley Crüe, Kiss, White Lion, and W.A.S.P. combined with Accept, Dokken and Club Hell. Especially the vocals of Dennis remind a little of Udo D. (Accept). His voice is less raw than Udo's, a bit smokier I would call it.

A big surplus is the guitar-parts and solos. Jonax Roxx (Club Hell) takes care of these. Listening to Club Hell on Myspace, I immediately recognize his style. You can compare that to the parts and solos he plays on Dennis's solo-album.

This is an album for people, who are in for some 80's hard rock with lyrics about good times and girls, girls and more girls, (to much testosterone Dennis?). An album worth listening to and having a party with.
