As Above - So Below

This is the 13th album from the Christian thrashers named Deliverance. 13 records?? That's quite a lot one might think, despite the fact that these guys are veterans, they actually manage to make “As Above – So Below” sound like an underground debut.

When I put on a Thrash CD I expect to get my ass kicked... And Deliverance wouldn't manage to kick the ass of an 8-year-schoolgirl .... The music is so uninspired and boring, they claim to play thrash with some progressive elements. Two genres I love but nothing caught my attention here at all. I spinned this CD about ten times, but every time it finishes I am left with nothingness. The riffs lack power, the drums are shitty produced and the vocalist tries to often to sound like Warrel Dane (Nevermore), which he is off course not capable of at all.... Sure they know how to play their instruments, but never in an innovative way what-so-ever. The tracks are way too long and the guitar solos which are intended as an edge of progressive excitement puts me to sleep.

If you are looking for a lullaby with Christian lyrics (something about returning to Eden), this might be it.. Over and out.
